Home Tek™ Inspection

Describes the process of systematically mapping out and testing existing hard-wired and wi-fi infrastructure systems in a home, plus evaluating any in-place equipment that will be re-used in an upgrade or included in a home resale.
This is accomplished by using the Home TekTM Inspection Protocol, a standardized system available to Smart Home Pro members and their clients. Think of it as the smart home equivalent of a structural pest control inspection.
The Home TekTM Inspector Finder helps the consumer—or the Smart Agent—locate a local Home Inspection Pro to do this work.
The Home Tek TM Report (coming soon) uses the Inspection Protocol data which the inspector has collected—and uploaded to SmartHomesPro.net—to create a summary report, written in consumer-friendly language. In addition to presenting the findings of the inspection, it also explains their implications relative to smart home features the consumer may need. Since this process is automated, it delivers a standardized, high-quality product, while saving hours of report-writing time.
This unique and powerful approach to sales engineering provides up-front, detailed information on the existing electronic infrastructure in a home, including any defects or limitations found, and the condition of any included equipment, plus how it may be custom-configured in this particular installation.
For the Smart Real Estate Agent, the Report helps protect their client from confusion and mis-representations in regard to the condition of the infrastructure in the home, as well as any electronics included in the sale.
For the Smart Home Expert working in an existing home, it avoids surprises, which can result in price estimating errors on a job, and eliminates uncompensated time wasted in the field. In addition, it also serves as a foot-in-the door for subsequent smart home sales and services for the client. After all, the inspection-holder is now the expert on this smart home!
